1 – Fillers are used to volumize. They can be used to enhance certain features, such as lips or chins. They can also be used to restore volume to reverse the signs of aging.

2 – The most commonly used fillers are made of hyalironic acid. Hyalironic acid is a constituent of the extracellular matrix in our bodies, so it’s already naturally present and not a foreign substance.

3 – There are risks to fillers. The most common risk is bruising. While many of our patients come to us because we use techniques to minimize bruising, since we are injecting something into the skin the risk of bruising is unavoidable.

4 – Rarely there could be bumps that can be felt or seen under the skin. If they are problematic they can be massaged down or an enzyme can be used to reverse the process.

5 – The most serious risk is if the filler is accidentally injected into an artery. This is a very scary risk, however it rarely happens! Because complications can be severe, never trust your face to an unskilled or unqualified injector. Make sure
